Our Story
Glenn “Gus” Gerson has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. Originally from Ohio, he arrived in Tucson after his U.S. Naval service, diving right into the world of fine dining. He started at the Bobby McGee’s on Tanque Verde Road while attending college, and later moved to Scordato’s On Broadway.
Under the tutelage of Joey Scordato, Gus learned how to create many of Joey’s own signature recipes, including the famous “Scordato Meatball.” When Joey stepped aside from the restaurant, Gus continued his culinary and restaurant management journey at the same location with the re-imagined Olson’s on Broadway. The pair reunited at Joey’s new northwest venture, Giuseppe’s, and it wasn’t long before Gus struck out on his own, realizing his dream to bring a similar home-style Italian concept to Tucson’s east side.
